      Activities

      The conventional hospitalization sector accommodates sick infants, children and adolescents. It has 29 beds, including 6 continuous monitoring beds. It is divided into 2 units: infants and children-adolescents. Parents are welcomed 24 hours a day, however only a parent can stay with their child at night.

      The day hospitalization sector welcomes infants, children and adolescents followed by a doctor from the team. Composed of 8 beds, it allows to carry out additional assessments, infusion of biotherapies, allergological tests.

      The pediatric medico-surgical emergency sector receives children from birth to 16 years old, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. It also includes a short-term hospitalization unit with 3 beds, welcoming patients for a 24-hour stay.

      Pathologies

      Gastroenterology pediatric hepatology and nutrition

      The pathologies treated include, for example:

      • inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis)
      • eosinophilic esophagitis
      • celiac disease
      • chronic diseases of the liver and bile ducts, viral hepatitis
      • rare digestive diseases (polyposis, rare digestive/absorption diseases)
      • chronic undernutrition and enteral nutrition monitoring, including the placement of percutaneous gastrostomy
      • functional intestinal disorders (functional abdominal pain, chronic constipation and encopresis, gastroesophageal reflux)
      • it also concerns the realization of upper and lower digestive endoscopies, and oesophageal pH-impedancemetry

      Pediatric pulmonology

      The service takes care of children suffering from an acute, bacterial or viral infection such as bronchiolitis, or a chronic attack, even a malformation.

      The respiratory explorations performed include bronchial endoscopy and sleep recording (ventilatory polygraphy) .

      cystic fibrosis

      There is, within the service, a Resource and Skills Center for Cystic Fibrosis ( CRCM ) intended to welcome children, adolescents and adults suffering from this pathology (mixed center for children/adults). The team includes doctors, physiotherapists, a dietitian, a psychologist and specialized nurses.

      Endocrinology pediatric diabetology

      The pathologies treated include, for example:

      • pediatric type 1 and 2 diabetes
      • thyroid and parathyroid pathologies, phospho-calcium metabolism pathologies
      • pathologies of growth and puberty, pathologies of the pituitary gland
      • adrenal pathologies, management of Turner, Noonan, Prader-Willi, Silver-Russel, Williams and Beuren syndromes, CHARGE…
      • pathologies of EMB development, pathologies of the gonadal axis

      In addition, the service includes an educational structure for diabetes in children and adolescents (referring pediatric nurse, dietician, psychologist, doctor) and a liaison structure has been created between the city and the hospital for the treatment of these diabetic children.

      Childhood obesity

      There is within the service a specialized center for pediatric obesity ( CSO ) intended to accommodate children and adolescents suffering from this pathology with dietary (Cécile LEGASTELOIS) and psychological (Lauriane CROUSEILLES) consultation.

      Metabolic pathologies

      The department specializes in the management of hereditary metabolic pathologies, phenylketonuria, amino acid pathologies and storage diseases.

      AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)

      The service monitors children born to HIV-positive mothers.

      Pediatric allergology

      The service has developed for several years an activity of exploration of allergic, cutaneous, digestive and respiratory manifestations. Food and drug oral provocation tests are organized in day hospitalization.

      Pediatric neurology

      The service receives all neuropediatric pathologies: stroke in children, learning disabilities, delayed psychomotor development, tics, convulsions, neuromuscular pathologies, etc.

      Ms. Mireille Denaveaut, neuropsychologist, is called upon for neuropsychological assessments.

      Pediatric Nephrology

      The service welcomes all pathologies of the urinary tract and the kidney.

      It performs kidney biopsies and monitors patients awaiting kidney transplants or transplant recipients, in collaboration with the referral centre.

      adolescent medicine

      The service receives adolescents suffering from eating disorders, malaise, unbalanced chronic illnesses. The care is done in collaboration with a psychologist, dieticians, a psychomotor therapist and a specialized educator. Close collaboration is made with the child psychiatry service.

      General pediatrics

      Apart from the pathologies mentioned above, the service receives children referred by their general practitioner for any other reason concerning follow-up or prevention.
