Quality of care
Certification by the High Authority for Health
Since April 2024, the Caen Normandy University Hospital has been certified by the High Authority for Health as having " Confirmed Quality of Care", a recognition of the involvement and work of professionals carried out with patients, and a guarantee of the quality of care.
Mandatory and enshrined in the public health code, the certification is valid for four years. This assessment is based on a framework developed by the High Authority for Health in consultation with healthcare professionals, representative organizations, and patient representatives.
It assesses the level of quality and safety of care provided in public and private healthcare facilities in 3 reference chapters:
- The patient : their care, respect for their rights, needs and expectations, and their commitment.
- Care teams : the efficiency and safety of care.
- The establishment and its governance (management and medical establishment commission/conference) : territorial collaboration with other actors in the healthcare and medico-social provision.
This level of certification underlines the quality of the organization and care provided by the university hospital.
