Governance and internal organization

Developed during the health crisis which involved fundamental changes in our organizations and practices, the 2022-2026 Institutional Project is accompanied by a comprehensive overhaul of the governance of the Caen Normandy University Hospital.

Platforms & services

The objective of this ambitious redefinition is to structure the steering and management within the establishment around three entities: at the core, the care and medical-technical services , and across the board, care platforms and territorial university institutes .

This innovative governance model helps to promote:

a new managerial dynamic
greater management flexibility within our hospital
increased territorial coordination with other health actors

This project is based on the service as the reference level and supports the evolution of organizations within the framework of the new University Hospital which will fully open its doors in 2026.

Governance

As a public health institution, the Caen Normandy University Hospital is headed by the Director General, with the support of the Executive Board, which is responsible for the hospital's management activities. The institution also has a Supervisory Board that decides on the institution's strategy and exercises ongoing oversight of its management.

The institution intends to fully integrate its governance into the national dynamic aimed at closely involving the medical community and improving practices through simplification and trust, in order to create a high-performing, attractive and welcoming hospital.
