Governance and internal organization

Developed during the health crisis which involved fundamental changes in our organizations and our practices, the 2022-2026 Establishment Project is accompanied by a global overhaul of the governance of CHU Caen Normandie.

The objective of this ambitious redefinition is to structure steering and management within the establishment around three entities: at the heart, the care and medico-technical , and transversally, care platforms institutes .

This innovative governance makes it possible to promote:

  • a new managerial dynamic

  • greater management flexibility within our hospital

  • increased territorial coordination with other health actors

This project is based on the service as a reference level and accompanies the evolution of organizations within the framework of the new CHU which will open its doors in full in 2026.

The governance

A public health establishment, the CHU Caen Normandie is managed by the general manager, with the assistance of the management board, which is responsible for the management of the hospital. The institution also has a supervisory board which decides on the institution's strategy and exercises permanent control over its management. The establishment intends to fully include its governance in the national dynamic aimed at closely involving the medical community and improving practices through simplification and trust, in order to maintain an efficient, attractive and welcoming hospital.
