Mobile intensive follow-up team in the environment dedicated to the care of young people beginning a psychotic process (EMSI) labeled therapeutic center of excellence of the institute of psychiatry.
Location: in Ouistreham and Douvres-la-Délivrande
EMSI offers early detection, assessment and intervention for young adults aged 16 to 30 who are at high risk of transitioning to psychosis or experiencing a first psychotic episode.
Early diagnosis allows for the rapid provision of appropriate care, promoting a favorable outcome.
Intensive care is provided by a multidisciplinary team over 2 years with the aim of improving the young person's functioning and restoring a satisfactory developmental trajectory.
Case management is a personalized approach that aims to be positive, proactive, and constructive. It provides outpatient care, which is inherently less traumatic and less stigmatizing, allowing patients' symptoms to be addressed within their natural and social environment.
This type of intensive care is characterized by the mobility of the case manager, who engages the patient and facilitates access to care from both the psychiatrist and the psychologist. They work together to process the psychotic experience and facilitate social and professional reintegration. The patient can thus be seen several times a week by the case manager in a familiar environment such as school, university, public transportation, or the city center.
Assessment and care of patients hospitalized in the medical and surgical departments of the Caen-Normandie University Hospital.
