Medical-Psychological Reception Center
The Medical-Psychological Reception Centre (CAMP) is an outpatient psychiatric facility attached to the Esquirol Centre of the Caen Normandy University Hospital. It comprises a Medical-Psychological Centre (CMP) and a Day Hospital (HDJ), also known as the Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre (RPS).
Activities and support
The CMP (Psychiatric Care Center), a unit for welcoming and coordinating psychiatric care, is composed of a multidisciplinary team with missions in prevention, diagnosis, outpatient care , andhome-based intervention. The Hérouville Saint-Clair CMP, the central hub for outpatient psychiatric care in the Caen North area, develops a wide range of interventions in conjunction with all other sectors of activity, thus facilitating access and continuity of care.
The Day Hospital (HDJ), complementary to the Mental Health Center (CMP), offers individual and/or group support and Patient Therapeutic Education (PTE) programs aimed at the recovery of those affected. Through therapeutic mediation workshops and psychoeducational activities, the objectives are to promote autonomy, reduce stigma, and improve the quality of life of individuals and their caregivers by supporting them in regaining an active role in society.
Together, the CMP and the HDJ form an integrated, user-centered structure that provides comprehensive care, from initial assessment to psycho-social rehabilitation, thus meeting the various needs of the latter in order to support their recovery journeys.

" Psychoeducation is a process that allows a person to acquire information and understanding about the illness through learning that may modify certain behaviors and/or representations.
Psychoeducation helps to understand how the disease develops, what constitutes it, what its symptoms are, and what the treatments and their objectives are.
It is intended for the person concerned and their relatives
The ETAPS program
ETAPS (Therapeutic Education and Practical Acquisitions in Schizophrenia) is a Patient Therapeutic Education (PTE) program for people affected by schizophrenia.
It is structured around four psychoeducational modules (Insight, Symptom Management, PRACS, Profamille) offered individually based on the needs identified during the Shared Educational Assessment (BEP) conducted beforehand. This support is complementary to and integrated into the care offered.
A Shared Educational Assessment (SEA), also called an educational diagnosis, is based on the expression of the experience of the illness, the understanding of health behaviors, and the collection of useful information.
It allows for the identification of personalized objectives and skills to be developed in the patient, in order to offer an educational and support approach that makes sense for the patient.
