Our services
Located on the 10thfloor of the CHU Côte de Nacre, unit 30, the hospitalization unit consists of 10 beds and mainly accommodates subjects with severe infectious pathologies (infections of the nervous system, cardiovascular system, on prosthesis, etc.) or on weakened terrain (immunocompromised for example) of community (acquired in an extra-hospital setting) or nosocomial (acquired in a hospital setting) or tropical (malaria).
Welcoming patients with infections localized to various organs, the Infectious Diseases Unit maintains close relationships with the various organ specialist care services in order to optimize patient care.
The Normandy COREVIH branch is located within the department and provides follow-up care for approximately 950 patients infected with HIV . It collaborates with the Rouen University Hospital on information and prevention of HIV infection .
Its mission is to ensure the follow-up of patients with infectious diseases treated in the city or post-hospitalization.
Vaccinations that must be delivered by an approved vaccination center, i.e. against yellow fever and rabies (after exposure), as well as travel advice, are also offered on an outpatient basis.
Normantibio is headquartered at the Caen Normandy University Hospital.
It is led by Dr. Élise Fiaux (CHU Rouen Normandie) and Dr. Emmanuel Piednoir (CH Avranche – Granville, UFR Medicine of Caen).
It is involved in the management of antibiotic therapy policy in health establishments, medico-social establishments and collaborates with general practitioners to limit the overconsumption of antibiotics and prevent antibiotic resistance.
