Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The professionals in the MPR are committed on a daily basis to hospitalized patients as well as patients received for consultation and treatment on the technical platform.

A Medical and Rehabilitation Day Hospital specializing in Neurology provides complex and coordinated care for patients referred by their doctor.

A mobile rehabilitation expertise team (EMER) can intervene at the request of health or medico-social professionals, with disabled people living in Calvados.

Physiotherapists and occupational therapists provide bedside care to patients in the various departments of the university hospital. Patients can also benefit from rehabilitation care and/or Adapted Physical Activity (APA) on the technical platform.

The mobile MPR unit can be called upon to assess rehabilitation needs, facilitate the organization of rehabilitation and optimize patient referral upon discharge from hospital.

Outpatient care is provided by physiotherapists, occupational therapists, adapted physical activity and health instructors, the consultation nurse, and the clinical psychologist. It primarily concerns patients with complex pathologies or those requiring specific rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation care in partnership with other departments of the University Hospital:

• SOS Main for the rehabilitation and fabrication of hand orthotics with the ortho-traumatology department

Access to these treatments is through the doctors of the department or the university hospital.

The team includes a manager, a specialist physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a secretary, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, a neuropsychologist, an adapted physical activity teacher, and a social worker.

TheMobile Rehabilitation Expertise Team allows for the evaluation of patients in their living environment, at the request of a healthcare or medical-social professional, and for environmental adaptation (housing), technical aids, and medical-social procedures.

The team is spread across 2 sites, at the University Hospital and at the Aunay Bayeux Hospital on the Aunay/Odon site.

It includes a secretary, coordinator, occupational therapists, social worker, and a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
