Activities

Ultrasound

Ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound examinations:

  • abdominal-pelvic ultrasounds,
  • cervical ultrasounds,
  • musculoskeletal ultrasounds.

Level 1 interventional acts:

  • puncture-biopsy
  • joint injections
  • drainage

Conventional Imaging

Its objective is to perform diagnostic medical imaging procedures, 24 hours a day, for hospitalized patients or those admitted as emergencies. The unit also performs bedside X-rays in the intensive care units of the university hospital and in the operating rooms.

The examinations performed concern the following organs or systems:

  • respiratory and cardiac system
  • digestive tract and accessory glands,
  • urogenital system,
  • bones and joints.

In addition, specific standard examinations are carried out:

  • Bone densitometry
  • EOS imaging of the spine and lower limbs (see paragraph above)
  • Cone Beam (3D panoramic dental X-ray)

Woman-child imaging

Pediatric imaging:

  • conventional radiology,
  • Doppler ultrasound
  • ultrasound-guided biopsy,
  • computed tomography (CT scan),
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
  • EOS system (See paragraph above)

Imagery of women:

  • conventional radiology,
  • mammography,
  • Doppler ultrasound
  • ultrasound-guided breast biopsy,
  • Computed tomography scan,
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
  • EOS system (See paragraph above)

Fetal imaging:

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI),
  • fetal bone scan.

Radiologists also participate in Mathilde's screening.

The team is doing everything possible to improve pain management during pediatric and gynecological examinations (appropriate premedication, nitrous oxide, hypnosis).

Hypnosis: Patients whose examinations are scheduled in these areas can benefit from hypnosis. Professionals on the team (medical radiology technologists and radiologists) are trained in this technique. Request it upon arrival or, if possible, when scheduling your appointment.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

The equipment is used in a multidisciplinary way on a time-sharing basis between different imaging disciplines:
neuroradiology, ENT, cardiovascular imaging, pediatric imaging, women's imaging, osteoarticular imaging, abdominopelvic and urogenital imaging.

Within the unit, all MRI concerning the following areas:

  • diagnostic and interventional neuroimaging,
  • Thoracic, cardiac and vascular imaging,
  • pediatric imaging, women's imaging,
  • musculoskeletal imaging,
  • Abdominal-pelvic and urinary imaging, peripheral vascular imaging, diagnostic and interventional,

Some more specialized examinations are also carried out:

  • Cardiac MRI , cardiac stress MRI (on 1.5 and 3 Tesla MRI scanners )
  • Fetal and pediatric MRI scans ,
  • MRI under general anesthesia,
  • MRI with advanced functional techniques (diffusion, perfusion, spectroscopy, dynamic angiography…),
  • Dynamic pelvic MRI ,
  • MRI accompanied by a professional trained in hypnosis.

Hypnosis sessions are conducted by qualified professionals (please request this when scheduling your appointment).

Our three devices are equipped with headphones and screens so that during exams, you can view relaxing landscapes accompanied by music of your choice, or a cartoon for younger children (also of your choice)

Vascular and interventional imaging

UMF: Thoraco-abdominal, uro-digestive and peripheral interventional vascular imaging:

  • angioplasties and placement of peripheral stents,
  • fibrinolysis,
  • hemostasis embolizations,
  • chemoembolizations,

UMF: Vascular and interventional neuroradiology:

  • angioplasties of the supra-aortic trunks,
  • aneurysm embolizations,
  • endovascular approach to angiomas
  • fibrinolysis (strokes),
  • treatment of dural fistulas and cerebral angiomas,
  • embolization of the external carotid artery territory,
  • angioplasty and intracranial stents.
  • percutaneous treatment of herniated discs,
  • bone and vertebral biopsies,
  • vertebroplasties, kyphoplasties.

 UMF: Interventional musculoskeletal surgery:

  • joint injections under CT and ultrasound guidance
  • bone and joint punctures/biopsies

Scanner

Examinations carried out within the unit:

  • Brain, spinal, abdominal-pelvic and thoracic scans,
  • Angioscanners, arthroscanners and coroscanners

Interventional activity under CT scan:

  • punctures, biopsies, drainages, infiltrations, radiofrequency.

Through its university component

The department provides training and education for radiologists, medical students, and medical radiographers. It also has a research mission.
