Before the surgical procedure, an anesthesiologist will see you for a pre-anesthetic consultation to assess your health and offer you an appropriate anesthesia (general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, etc.).
During the surgical procedure, the anesthesiologist-resuscitator accompanied by a State-Certified Nurse Anesthetist will provide your anesthesia, your awakening and your monitoring until your return to the department.
After the surgical procedure, an anesthesiologist-resuscitator may intervene during the hospitalization if necessary.
The anesthesiologist-resuscitator will also see you during your pregnancy to organize your anesthetic care during your delivery.
Intensive care units provide care for patients whose life is at risk in the short term due to a serious accident or the sudden onset of organ failure.
The intensive care unit also accommodates patients who have undergone specific surgical procedures (cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, etc.).
The intensive care units at the University Hospital provide regional referral services.
These intensive care units have the most modern organ support techniques (artificial kidney, artificial heart and mechanical ventilation).
