    The quality of care

    The organization makes it possible to offer quality care for chronic diseases, appropriate management of acute diseases with, if necessary, recourse to sector health structures; finally, it also aims to maintain and prevent the loss of autonomy of the elderly person.

    The residence for the elderly at the Caen Normandy University Hospital is therefore a living space that provides permanent support to its residents:

    • accommodation and hotels;
    • recreational activities aimed at maintaining social connections;
    • paramedical care and medical monitoring;
    • assistance with daily living activities and maintenance care according to the resident's level of dependency;
    • maintaining autonomy and/or stimulating a return to autonomy for the elderly person.

    Monet Pavilion : 10 nursing home beds and 100 long-term care beds , including 14 beds in a secure unit, spread over 3 floors. Corot Pavilion : 81 nursing home beds spread over 3 floors. Dufy Pavilion : 69 nursing home beds in a secure unit spread over 3 floors.

    The Residence for Elderly People fulfills 3 main missions

    A goal of a good quality of life

    Providing residents with services designed to make daily life pleasant involves taking into account their wishes and lifestyles, organizing stimulating, calming, or recreational activities, offering high-quality hospitality services, and maintaining the social connections essential to a good quality of life. The facility must be perceived, primarily in its architecture and in the minds of the professionals working within it, as a place to live and reside.

    A mission to provide assistance with daily living activities

    To ensure that the residents' lives are as good as possible, the facility takes care to assist with the daily tasks that people can no longer perform on their own, with the constant aim of maintaining acquired skills and even enabling a return to autonomy, a sign of freedom, when possible.

    A medical monitoring and paramedical assistance mission to guarantee specialized access to individualized care

    This significant support is dedicated to the ongoing pursuit of improved quality of life. The organization of care is also part of an evolving process of enhancing the care provided to residents.
