      The hospitalization unit

      Located on the 10th floor of the CHU Côte de Nacre, unit 30, the hospitalization unit consists of 10 beds and mainly accommodates subjects with severe infectious pathologies ( infections of the nervous system, cardiovascular system, prosthesis, etc.) or on weakened ground (immunocompromised for example) of a community nature (acquired in an extra-hospital environment) or nosocomial (acquired in a hospital environment) or tropical (malaria) .

      Welcoming patients suffering from localized infections in various organs, the Infectious Diseases Unit maintains privileged relationships with the various organ specialist care departments in order to optimize patient care.

      The Regional Coordination Center for the fight against HIV ( COREVIH )

      The COREVIH is located in the department and monitors approximately 950 HIV-infected patients . It collaborates with the University Hospital of Rouen on information and prevention of HIV .

      Outpatient consultation for infectious diseases

      Its mission is to ensure the follow-up of patients with infectious pathologies followed in the city or after hospitalization.

      Vaccinations to be delivered by an approved vaccination center are also offered on an outpatient basis, ie against yellow fever and rabies (after exposure) , as well as travel advice.

      Regional Center for Antibiotherapy

      Normantibio is headquartered at CHU Caen Normandie.

      It is directed by Dr Élise Fiaux (CHU Rouen Normandie) and Dr Emmanuel Piednoir (CH Avranche – Granville, UFR Medicine of Caen).

      It intervenes in the management of the antibiotic therapy policy in health establishments, medico-social establishments and collaborates with general practitioners to limit the overconsumption of antibiotics and prevent antibiotic resistance.
