Patients from the University Hospital are participating in the Chronos Literature Prize
The Chronos National Literature Prize, initiated by the Age-Friendly City approach of the Mission for Healthy Aging in the city of Caen, offers juror readers the opportunity to discover works with the theme of intergenerational relationships, the transmission of knowledge, life paths and aging.
The principle
The residents of the RPA – La Charité, the patients of the child and adolescent psychiatry service (UCHA) accompanied by the teacher of the service, as well as those of the University Center for Renal Diseases (CUMR) are the juries of this national prize!
Two reading categories were offered: "High school students, 20 years and older" and "Graphic novels." Registered patients have four months to read four books. At the end, they will vote for their favorite.
In May, the Mission for Healthy Aging in the city of Caen will centralize the votes to send them to the national level.
Much more than a literary prize
The Chronos Prize for Literature pursues several objectives:
- Raising awareness among young and old about the life journey, from birth to death, and the fact that "Growing up is growing old... Growing old is growing up.".
- Encourage the development of intergenerational relationships.
- Developing a love of reading among young people and introducing foreign jurors to the French language.
- Contributing to citizenship education through individual secret ballot voting.
- To promote the writing, illustration and publication of works addressing the theme of "Growing Up-Growing Old" and the links between generations.
See you in June for the results!
