Researchers from Caen recognized at the 9th Normandy Biomedical Research Day

On June 23, 2026, the 9th edition of the Normandy Biomedical Research Day (JNRB) was held, an annual event bringing together health research stakeholders in Normandy.

More than 320 researchers, clinicians, students and doctoral candidates gathered for a day rich in scientific exchange, marked by oral presentations and poster presentations and two major plenary conferences:

Professor Chantal Pichon (University of Orléans, University Institute of France): "mRNA in biomedicine: from vaccines to personalized therapies, between promises and challenges"

Professor Mathieu Molimard (University of Bordeaux): "Recommendations for a national strategy for information and combating disinformation in health"

The Caen Normandy University Hospital welcomes the distinction of several researchers from Caen, rewarded for the quality of their work.

Award for best oral communication

Louise Hutinet (ISTCT – University of Caen Normandy) received an award for her presentation entitled: “Nanozeolites as vectors for the delivery of anti-NDR2 siRNA to human bronchial tumor cell lines. This work stems from a project supported by the Caen Normandy University Hospital as part of its internal research grant program.

Award for best annotated poster

Blandine Harel (DYNAMICURE – INSERM UMR 1311 – University of Caen Normandy) was awarded for her poster: “Impact of the RamR Regulator on Microbial Gut Competition: Enterobacter cloacae versus commensals”.

This day also provided an opportunity to highlight the work of several researchers from the Caen Normandy University Hospital through a filmography shown at the event. The interviews, conducted by Professor Jean-Jacques Parienti, featured Jean-Philippe Salaün, author of the article " Effects of repeated early life anesthesia exposure on visual system development in mice", and Damien Legallois, author of " Identification of anticancer drugs associated with cancer therapy-related cardiac dysfunction: a VigiBase® disproportionality analysis".

These distinctions and this spotlight testify to the dynamism of biomedical research in Caen and the commitment of the teams at the Caen Normandy University Hospital and their academic partners to advance knowledge for the benefit of patients.
