The urology department boasts innovative technologies, including targeted imaging that enables highly precise biopsies. Furthermore, thanks to joint funding from the Normandy Region and the Caen Normandy Health Foundation of the Caen Normandy University Hospital, the urology department's technical platform is equipped with a DaVinci surgical robot and a Koelis ultrasound scanner, enabling highly precise, minimally invasive surgical procedures.

With over 1,500 men treated annually, the Caen Normandy University Hospital actively serves western Normandy, working closely with surrounding hospitals to ensure access to quality care. In partnership with the Maurice Tubiana Center, the Caen Normandy University Hospital teams refer patients for radiotherapy sessions when necessary.

In parallel, the hospital's physicians are actively involved in medical research, resulting in the implementation of cutting-edge protocols. These research protocols offer patients access to the latest advances in imaging technologies and new medical approaches, with the aim of improving both the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer in nuclear medicine.

Thanks to a special molecule, it is now possible to detect and target prostate cancer metastases with unprecedented precision, down to the cellular level.
