Gynecological cancers: awareness day
On the occasion of gynecological cancer awareness month, Turquoise September, the gynecology at Caen Normandie University Hospital are committed, Monday September 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., to inform you about these cancers, screening, symptoms and treatments. . With the support of the Imagyn association and in the presence of the Calvados committee against cancer league.
Conference and information stand
11 a.m. – 4 p.m.: information stands (CHU Caen Normandie, Imagyn Association , League Against Cancer )
4 p.m.-5 p.m.: general public conference on the prevention, screening and treatment of cancers and presentation of the Imagyn association.
Gynecological cancers affect the female reproductive system and include cancers of the endometrium, cervix and ovary. There are also rarer cancers such as those of the vagina, vulva and tubes . Nearly 15,000 new cases of these gynecological tumors are diagnosed in France each year *

The gynecology department of Caen Normandy University Hospital ensures the diagnosis and treatment of precancerous and cancerous lesions in the event of suspicious lesions during screening thanks to multidisciplinary care. Practitioners (imaging, medical oncology, surgery, radiotherapy, anatomopathology, oncogenetics) discuss each file in a multidisciplinary consultation meeting to offer optimal care to patients.
