Caen Normandy University Hospital involved in domestic, intra-family and/or sexual violence
On the occasion of the international day for the elimination of violence against women , focus on the daily work of the Caen Normandy University Hospital teams to support victims, but also on the systems put in place within the 'establishment.
Signature of the departmental protocol for welcoming and supporting victims
The Caen Normandy University Hospital signed, this Thursday, November 23, at the Prefecture of Calvados , a protocol for welcoming and supporting victims of domestic, intra-family and/or sexual violence within health establishments . Signatories are: the Prefect, the general director of ARS Normandie , the general director of the Caen Normandie University Hospital, the director of the Lisieux hospital center , the prosecutors of Caen and Lisieux, representatives of the police, the council departmental of the order of doctors of Calvados , of the regional union of liberal doctors , of victim assistance associations and of the Caen bar .
Caen Normandy University Hospital fully committed
Caen Normandy University Hospital has a comprehensive range of care and support for victims of violence. The establishment's medical and healthcare teams are fully committed to supporting victims.
As such, the CHU announces the establishment of a consultation dedicated to domestic, intra-family and/or sexual violence within its medical-judicial unit ( UMJ ), to which victims can be referred 24 hours a day by the various hospital services and local health professionals.
It aims to improve the identification and reporting of situations of violence, to inform victims of their rights and to facilitate the process of filing a complaint. A simplified complaint filing procedure has also been put in place within the establishment, allowing immediate transmission to law enforcement. The new consultation also allows, for victims who do not wish to immediately file a complaint, the production of findings and precautionary samples with a view to possible legal proceedings.
An internal communications campaign against sexist and sexual violence
Caen Normandie University Hospital, as an employer, is committed to the prevention, protection and support of agents who are victims of violence. An internal campaign is deployed for all staff at the establishment in order to raise awareness and encourage victims of sexual violence or sexist behavior to report it to a dedicated prevention unit.
