Cancer treatment is progressing rapidly

Cancer treatment is the driving force behind this dynamic, with significant progress in the treatment of several pathologies.

Between 2021 and 2024, for skin cancer, the Caen University Hospital (CHU de Caen) moved from 18thto 9thplace , and from 16thto 10thplace for the treatment of adult brain tumors. It is also ranked for lung cancer and kidney cancer.

Oncology is a priority for the institution and has always held a special place in the University Hospital's activities. It alone represents 20% of the total activity, spread across some fifteen care departments and an equal number of support services. The University Hospital serves both as a referral center for oncology across the Manche, Orne, and Calvados departments and as a local care facility for residents of the Caen area.

Furthermore, the results of Le Point's ranking, which evaluates nearly 1,400 institutions, confirm the actions taken to promote the development of cancer care. This is a recognition of the teams' work and an encouraging result for the future.
