A new room dedicated to well-being

Caen Normandy University Hospital has been involved in Adapted Physical Activity ( APA ) for years. All of its actions (rooms, events, research) were labeled “Maison Sport-Santé” in 2021, as part of the National Sport Health Strategy 2019-2024 .

Today, thanks to the generous support of the Fondation des Hôpitaux , patrons, as well as partners of the Fondation Caen Normandie Santé du CHU such as the CASDEN Banque Populaire , and thanks to the commitment of the vaguemestre service, a dedicated room to well-being has opened its doors.

It will be inaugurated on Wednesday October 4 at 3 p.m.

Adopt an active lifestyle for your health

Caen Normandie University Hospital has been very involved for many years in physical activity for therapeutic purposes. In 2018, the establishment therefore acquired a space reserved for physical activity.

This has two rooms:

one of 92 m² for group lessons for agents and for physical activity protocols adapted for patients,
one of 88 m² intended for the practice of endurance and bodybuilding activities, independently or supervised by an APA ( EAPA ).

Well-being activities for CHU staff

To these two rooms was added, in February 2023, a 3rd ^intended for well-being activities.

Thanks to a call for projects from the Fondation des Hôpitaux de Paris “let's take care of those who care” won by the Maison Sport Santé , to the Caen Normandie Santé foundation, and to the involvement of the teams, this room could be completely renovated and equipped. Caen Normandie University Hospital staff registered with Maison Sport Santé will be able to benefit from free adapted sessions such as shiatsu, Ayurvedic massages, foot reflexology, etc. These activities are carried out by trained professionals working voluntarily within our structure.

The Maison Sport Santé CHU Caen Normandie welcomes nearly 1,100 agents and more than 900 patients per year.
