Methodology platform

The UBRC focuses on methodological and statistical support for the development of various protocols, including:

– Hospital Clinical Research Projects (medical and paramedical)

INCa and ANR projects

– Industrial projects

– PRME, PHRIP

– Internal research projects

We are also there to carry out the statistical analysis of the data, as well as the interpretation and publication of the results.

Our unit offers methodological consultancy services in the form of methodological consultations. It provides training for clinicians and paramedics. As such, we are responsible for teaching biostatistics and clinical research methodology at the Health Training and Research Center ( PFRS ) of the University of Caen Normandy, as well as in various paramedical schools, such as as IFSI, IADE, training in midwifery, speech therapy and occupational therapy. In addition, we actively participate in the teaching of epidemiology, semiology and epistemology.

Our practitioners are regularly called upon to provide their methodological expertise on research projects, both at regional and national level.

Regarding the methodological platform, Data Management is provided by two Data managers and is coordinated by a responsible Data manager. The data manager ensures the creation and management of databases of interventional research projects and participates in controlling the consistency and quality of the data collected in conjunction with the URC .

The fields of competence of UBRC mainly fall into the following areas: validation of scales, methodology of clinical trials, analysis of complex schemes (clusters, propensity score, meta-analyses) and construction of prognostic models

The unit's practitioners are regularly called upon for methodological expertise for research projects carried out by other regions and nationally.

• creation in 2017 of DU FCSP-RC (Training in the Design and Monitoring of Protocols in Clinical Research)
