    Tasks

The methodology platform brings together the Biostatistics and Clinical Research Unit ( UBRC ) and Data Management. The UBRC contributes to the design of clinical research projects developed at the CHU. It focuses in particular on methodological and statistical support for the development of protocols (Hospital Medical and Paramedical Clinical Research Projects, INCa and ANR Projects, Industrial Projects, PRME, PHRIP , Internal Research Projects, etc.) , at the statistical analysis of data, interpretation and publication of results.

    Advice

The unit also provides methodological advice (consultations) and training for clinicians and paramedics. She is responsible for teaching biostatistics and clinical research methodology at the Health Training and Research Center (PFRS) of the University of Caen and in paramedical schools ( IFSI , IADE , maieutics, speech therapy, occupational therapy) .
In addition, she participates in the teaching of epidemiology, semiology and epistemology. The unit's practitioners are regularly called upon for methodological expertise in research projects at both regional and national level.

    Data

Regarding the methodological platform, Data Management is provided by two Data managers and is coordinated by a responsible Data manager. The data manager ensures the creation and management of databases of interventional research projects and participates in controlling the consistency and quality of the data collected in conjunction with the URC .

    Skill

The fields of competence of UBRC mainly fall into the following areas: validation of scales, methodology of clinical trials, analysis of complex schemes (clusters, propensity score, meta-analyses) and construction of prognostic models

The unit's practitioners are regularly called upon for methodological expertise for research projects carried out by other regions and nationally.

    Some activity figures
