Regional Pediatric Referral Team for Children at Risk
The EPRRED ( at Risk) participates in local initiatives with the UAPED (Local Support Units for Children and Adolescents at Risk). This structure allows, in particular, for a graduated approach to addressing violence within the region, the sharing of knowledge and protocols, and the organization of training on the topic of children and adolescents at risk. The EPRRED serves as a resource team for complex cases. The formalization of regular local meetings will facilitate the sharing of information among the UAPEDs , especially regarding complex situations.

The approach
Promote training programsIn 2023, EPRRED wanted to promote training on the broad topic of identifying and caring for children and adolescents in danger.
To achieve this, she worked with local professionals in a complementary manner (justice, departmental council (CD), regional space… ( EREN ), university hospital services…) .
EPRRED aims to unite stakeholders in the departments of Calvados, Orne and Manche involved in the issue of children at risk around concerns about their health.
This team is planning a more comprehensive territorial animation that will have to meet the following objectives:
- Establish an operational and partnership-based link with the UAPEDs in the area
- Building links with local stakeholders, in particular the central forensic medicine , the regional center for psychotrauma , and the regional center for sudden infant death syndrome.
- Organize regular case meetings. EPRRED will be the point of contact for UAPED in complex situations.
- Develop care and monitoring protocols for situations with the UAPEDs in the Normandy region (Calvados, Manche, Orne)
- Organize training sessions on children at risk within an interprofessional and interinstitutional framework.
