the teams at the university hospital's HPV vaccination center
In Normandy, a vaccination program against human papillomavirus ( HPV ) in middle schools was set up in 2019 by the Regional Health Agency and the Normandy Academy , in partnership with the centers of the Caen Normandy University Hospital, the Miséricorde Hospital Foundation and the Eure-Seine Hospital grade students .
Vaccination is offered to 5th grade students and is carried out directly in the schools by the team from the Calvados Manche Orne vaccination center of the Caen Normandy University Hospital . 80 schools are to be visited in 2023, or about 2 per week.
This HPV vaccination program consists of two doses for children aged 11 to 14 and three doses for those aged 15 to 19. The booster dose is administered 6 to 12 months after the first dose for those aged 11 to 14. The 2023 vaccination campaign began in mid-September. By the end of October, 13 middle schools had received vaccinations from the center's professionals, reaching 1,064 students, of whom 229 were vaccinated against HPV , representing 21.5% of the children.
Some figures:
