Discover the adventure imagined by Emma, ​​hospitalized in pediatric onco-hematology

At the end of 2022, the Ministry of Culture asked the association of sports writers and its members to imagine actions to promote sports literature in spheres where its distribution is unusual. I then took the liberty of knocking on the door of the Caen University Hospital where I met Emma, ​​11 years old, treated in the pediatric onco-hematology department, to offer her, in agreement with the medical supervision and her mother , to invent a cycling tale intended to be relayed on this podcast. The afternoon we met, Emma revealed to me in one go the extremely inventive and detailed plot of the story she had imagined while waiting for our appointment. I wrote everything down in my notebook, put it all back on my computer the following days, then came back to read it to him to get his approval.

Finally, on Emma's idea, we entrusted the text to the storyteller Marie Lemoine, of the Magnanarelle company , who has been working for thirty years to read and play stories to the children of this service where, despite the stakes - to quote the In the words of Sophie and Catherine, the health managers and educators who accompanied this project from start to finish – “there is also a lot of joy! ".
