A new number to report abuse against vulnerable adults

Since March 1, 2026, a new national number has been available to report situations of abuse towards vulnerable adults : 3133.

This service is for anyone who is a victim or witness of abuse, whether the abuse occurs at home or in an institution.

Vulnerable adults may include, in particular:

  • people elderly,
  • people with disabilities,
  • people in precarious situations.

A listening and support service

By calling 3133, you will be put in touch with trained professionalswho can listen, advise and guide the people concerned.

The service is:

  • free,
  • open 7 days a week,
  • accessible from 9am to 8pm.

Accessibility solutions also exist for deaf or hard-of-hearing people via the 3133.gouv.fr.website

Why call 3133?

You can contact this number if you:

  • are a victim of abuse,
  • you witness a disturbing situation,
  • do you have a doubt or need advice.

The information gathered will helpdirect the situation to the appropriate services in order to provide the necessary assistance.

If in doubt, don't stay alone

Abuse can take different forms: physical violence, psychological violence, neglect, financial abuse or deprivation of rights.

If you are faced with a situation of this type, do not hesitate to call 3133 for help and support.
