College of Ethics

The college acts as the ethics advisor. It is also competent to answer, confidentially, questions relating to individual situations, which may be brought to its attention by department heads or those concerned, in order to recommend any measure appropriate to ensure compliance with ethical obligations and principles and to prevent or end a situation of conflict of interest.

This referral can be made by any person employed by the Caen Normandy University Hospital, regardless of their status.

The college acts as the ethics advisor. It is competent to answer, confidentially, questions relating to individual situations, which may be brought to its attention by any employee of the Caen Normandy University Hospital, regardless of their status, in order to give an opinion on compliance with ethical obligations and principles.

The ethics committee is also competent to issue opinions and formulate recommendations on general matters relating to the application of ethics within the institution, at the request of the institution's director general, the chair of the medical board and/or the dean of the Faculty of Health. It may also initiate its own investigations.

The college may be called upon, in particular, in the following areas: dignity, impartiality, integrity, probity, equality, secularism, neutrality and professional secrecy, or situations related to an ancillary activity…

The ethics committee can be contacted for any request falling within its area of ​​competence

The request must include all the information and documents necessary to understand the question(s) raised.
The requester must specify their surname, first name, postal and email contact details, position, and department of assignment.
