Various methods are used by the pathologist from macroscopic examination to in situ molecular biology:
Cytopathology, Histopathology, Extemporaneous examination, Histochemistry, Histoenzymology, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence, In situ , FISH.The ACP department at the Caen Normandy University Hospital handles 25,000 examination requests per year.
He carries out an appeals activity as well as an expert activity in reviewing files external to the University Hospital.
The ACP service of the CHU of Caen Normandie takes charge of the diagnostic and theranostic activity in close collaboration with the Tumor Bank of Caen-Basse Normandie and the Federative Structure of Cyto-Molecular Oncogenetics ( SF-MOCAE ) .
