Inflammatory diseases of the bile ducts and autoimmune hepatitis
diseases of the bile ducts and autoimmune hepatitis can affect children and adults. They correspond to a chronic inflammatory attack, often of immune origin, rarely genetic, of the liver cells which produce bile and/or which are involved in the synthesis and detoxification functions carried out by the liver. They can be complicated by cirrhosis if they are not treated, however there are treatments which are effective and often make it possible to control their progression.
The Caen Normandy University Hospital center is coordinated by Dr Isabelle Ollivier-Hourmand for adult patients and Professor Claire Dupont for children and adolescents. It is attached to the Reference Center for inflammatory diseases of the bile ducts and autoimmune hepatitis at Saint Antoine hospital, and to the FILFOIE Network . It works closely with the ALBI patients association .
A multidisciplinary team is involved in patient care.
