Skin cancer

An innovative project for skin cancer screening, unique in Normandy.

Early detection of skin cancer is crucial, particularly in Normandy, where the departments of Manche and Calvados have a higher than average national mortality rate for melanoma.

Access to dermatological care is currently limited in Normandy, with long waiting times for specialist consultations. The VECTRA 3D project, led by the Caen University Hospital, offers a revolutionary AI-assisted videodermoscopy , enabling early and precise detection of suspicious skin lesions, including melanomas and basal cell carcinomas.

An innovative 3D medical monitoring system using AI

This unique system in Normandy will provide 3D body mapping , longitudinal monitoring of lesions, and AI-powered optimized analysis, thus reducing the need for unnecessary biopsies and improving the care of at-risk patients. It is integrated into a community-hospital care pathway that facilitates targeted patient referral through digital platforms.

We need you!

The project to acquire this innovative equipment represents an investment of 500,000 euros , an amount which calls for public-private co-financing in order to guarantee wider access to early screening for skin cancers for patients in Normandy.

We are seeking sponsors to support this innovative project, which will improve the effectiveness of dermatological screening , promote medical research and enhance the attractiveness of the region in terms of public health.

Together, let's invest in the future of skin cancer prevention.
