Accompanying chair
Every day, the Caen University Hospital (CHU) admits 130 children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. The Caen University Hospital Foundation aims to equip all 130 pediatric rooms with sleeper chairs for accompanying parents , providing comfortable sleeping space for each parent and allowing them to stay with their sick child.
Parents of hospitalized children, care partners…
When children are hospitalized, it is essential that a parent can stay by their side , providing support , which helps reduce their stress and anxiety. Accompanying sleeper chairs therefore ensure a more calming environment for families, promoting better recovery for young patients.
Furthermore, by standardizing the quality of sleeping arrangements for relatives across the 5 pediatric wards, these accompanying chair-beds will offer a fair solution for all parents.

Testimonials
Laetitia, Enzo's mother
This allowed me to stay with Enzo during his hospitalization, as I live near La Ferté Macé. Since the age of three, Enzo had been hospitalized at the university hospital in other wards where these sleeper chairs for accompanying persons weren't available. I didn't like the idea of leaving in the evening and leaving him alone.
Jean-Baptiste, Rose's father
I know I couldn't leave her all alone, even with the entire care team we trust watching over her. When I was told I could stay overnight with Rose, it was a real relief.
