Lecture by Professor Fabian Guénolé

Children and adolescents who have been exposed to simple or complex trauma are on life trajectories in which these events can play a role in their health, as defined by the WHO , and also in their development. The effects can be multiple and of varying severity. They are widely described in the scientific literature.

With equivalent trauma, we observe varying outcomes from one child to another. While knowledge of risk and severity factors is now fairly widely accepted, identifying factors associated with a good prognosis is crucial. During Professor Fabian Guénolé , to be held on January 20, 2025, in the Egg Amphitheater at the FEH of the Caen University Hospital , we wanted to focus on these factors. It seemed to us that a thorough understanding of these factors by healthcare professionals is a significant asset for reaching out to children and adolescents who have experienced trauma in their daily practice.
