A fluorescence laparoscope
for the management of gynecological cancers
Each year, more than 150 women are treated at the Caen Normandy University Hospital for pelvic cancer, often requiring precise lymph node staging to tailor treatments. Currently, this detection relies on isotopic (radioactive) or colorimetric techniques, which have limitations: radiation exposure, allergic risks, and prolonged hospitalization.
This technology offers:
- Improved sensitivity for detecting lymph nodes.
- No exposure of patients and healthcare staff to radioactive products.
- A reduction in the length of hospital stay, as patients no longer need to come the day before for screening.
- A reduction in allergic reactions compared to colorimetric techniques.
Improving quality of life
women are affected thanks to better lymph node staging and optimal adaptation of treatments.
Reducing surgical morbidities
and the side effects associated with traditional techniques.
Optimize care
by reducing radiation exposure and shortening the length of hospital stays.
