An Osteo-Articular Infection ( AIO ) is an infection that affects the bones, joints or implants such as joint prostheses. These infections are common after surgery but can also occur following severe trauma. Although they are not very frequent in France, with approximately 2000 to 4000 new cases per year, they are very severe and can have serious consequences on the functionality and rarely the life of patients.

The center is associated with the Lille, Amiens and Rouen centers (CRIOAC G4 group) coordinated by the Lille-Tourcoing team around Doctor Eric Senneville (infectiology) and Professor Henri Migaud (surgery).
