The geriatric sector welcomes and takes care of people over 75 years of age. It is made up of an assessment center, 2 standard short-stay hospitalization units, a hospitalization unit for disconcerting patients ( UTAC ) , an accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people ( EHPAD ) and a Long-Term Care Unit ( USLD ) .
The sector meets the needs of the public in connection with the medico-social actors of the territory.

Our support
DepartmentThe Department of Geriatrics is a bi-site service of the University Hospital of Caen located on the 17th floor of the Côte de Nacre site and at the Residence for the Elderly · La Charité.
The geriatric sector provides care for people over 75 in the territory and plays a leading role in the interface between the city and the hospital.
It is made up of an assessment center which includes a telephone platform which is aimed at the medico-social actors of the territory, an extra-hospital mobile team evaluating patients at home, an intra-hospital mobile team, a consultation center and a Day Hospital sector ( HDJ ).
It also consists of acute hospitalization beds, two standard short-stay units, a disconcertingly ill unit ( UTAC USLD beds and 134 EPHAD beds.
