Hospitalized social service

“The mission of educational social workers is to help patients, people cared for and families who are experiencing social difficulties to prevent or overcome these difficulties, to maintain or regain their autonomy and possibly to facilitate their social and professional integration”.

It intervenes with reference to a specific code of ethics. It is bound by professional secrecy.

Patients can, as well as their family or entourage, request the intervention of the social service for hospitalized patients. He will assess, with them, their situation (administrative, family, social, professional) in consultation with the medical and nursing team.

The social service can intervene in particular in the following areas: home care, orientation in appropriate structures, access to rights (administrative procedures, exceptional aid, protection of vulnerable people, etc.) . He will also contribute with all the staff to facilitate their stay in the hospital.

Health Care Access Centers ( PASS ) are medico-social care units which must facilitate access for disadvantaged people not only to the hospital system but also to institutional networks of reception care and social support. .

A team of professionals, made up of a social worker, a nurse and a doctor, is available to patients to help and support them.
